The Junior Fossil Club explores a world long before dinosaurs — a time about 300 million years ago during the Carboniferous Period. Back then, Earth was covered in vast swamps, giant forests of ferns, and shallow seas filled with fascinating marine life.Instead of dinosaur bones, we discover fossils such as:
- Ancient ferns and plant leaves from swamp forests
- Lepidodendron
- Brachiopods (shell-like sea animals)
- Trilobites and other early marine creatures
Every session you will:
- Learn how plant and sea fossils formed
- Identify real Carboniferous fossils
- Keep a fossil journal like real geologists
Why It’s Exciting:
Three hundred million years ago, there were:
- No birds
- No flowering plants
- No dinosaurs yet!
Instead, giant insects buzzed through humid forests, and strange sea creatures filled the oceans. The Junior Fossil Club helps young scientists travel back in time to discover the incredible life that existed long before dinosaurs ever walked the Earth. ✨
Please note that parents will not be able to enter the fossil forest and will be asked to wait in the coffeehouse during the session.
